5 BIG MISTAKES ON VISA ON ARRIVAL

#1: Don’t do anything online for visa on arrival: For those who believe that applying visa on arrival to Vietnam is similar to visa on arrival for some South-East Asian countries such as Thailand, Cambodia or Laos, be aware if you don’t want to miss out your flight to Vietnam. Applying for visa approval letter online beforehand is what you have to do first when it comes to Vietnam visa on arrival. Otherwise, you will waste a huge amount of money for booking another flights or pay expensive fee at the Vietnam airport.
#2: Enter any borders with visa on arrival
That is very awesome to travel Vietnam with Cruise but it is awful if you think that visa on arrival is accepted at sea border. According to the Immigration Law, visa on arrival is exclusively applicable to air travel.
What should I do if I enter by road or sea? You have to directly apply visa at the Vietnam Embassy in your country or any which is the nearest your place.
#3: Arrival date
There is a general misconception that your visa is valid since the date you physically enter Vietnam. It is totally wrong, because your visa validity is granted according to your arrival date filled out on your visa application which is submitted to the Immigration Department.
#4: Passport validity
Passport validity is as important as your visa validity when applying visa on arrival. So, make sure that you have a passport in your hands which has at least 6 month validity beyond your actual travel date.
#5: Visa extension
Visa extension is the best choice for those who want to prolong your duration in Vietnam; however, it is not the best for all cases because of its costly fee, time-consuming and inconsistent policy on visa extension.
In order to make your trip flexible and more fun, you should get 3 month visa instead of just applying for 1 month visa.
We hope that you read carefully and learn from mistakes above to avoid any problems so that you enjoy fully time in Vietnam.
